REPAIR Coach Apprenticeship

To apply for the REPAIR Coach Apprenticeship program you must have completed New Ventures West introductory Foundations of Coaching course.

In order to count any of the direct client experience hours you will accumulate during the apprenticeship toward your coaching certification, you will also need to be concurrently enrolled in (or already graduated from) New Ventures West PCC. 

If you are enrolled in the REPAIR Coach Apprenticeship program concurrently while enrolled in NVW PCC, you are eligible to train in REPAIR groups at any time, and you are eligible to begin working with individual coaching clients after you complete your PCC session 2.

All group and individual direct client experience hours gained are eligible for ICF certification if they are accrued during or after your PCC.

There are two options for the apprenticeship program length. 

 A) Student Coach Apprentice Level: commit to serve on the Faculty of at least 2 REPAIR Cohorts, and individually coach 4 clients. This commitment level requires availability of approximately 6.5 direct client hours weekly over a period of 9-12 months, and will qualify apprentices for all client experience hours needed for NVW PCC Certification + ICF ACC Certification (100+ client hours). 

 B) Certified REPAIR Facilitator Apprentice Track: commit to serve on the Faculty of at least 4 REPAIR Cohorts, and maintain a caseload of 4-5 individually coached clients at a time over a period of 2 years. This commitment level requires availability of approximately 7 direct client hours weekly over a period of 24 months, and will qualify apprentices for all client experience needed for NVW PCC Certification (if needed) + ICF PCC Certification (500+ client hours). This apprentice track also leads to the possibility of REPAIR Facilitator Certification after facilitating all 13 topics in REPAIR, opening doors to opportunities for future paid REPAIR Facilitator roles and licensing opportunities to launch your own REPAIR cohorts. 

No, this apprenticeship does not provide basic coach education training. The REPAIR Coach Apprentice program is supplemental for students who are currently enrolled in (or have graduated from) New Ventures West coach education programs, and the apprenticeship program is a placement site to gain direct client experience. If you are simultaneously enrolled in New Ventures West Professional Coaching Certification program and the REPAIR Coach Apprenticeship program you will be able to complete your required written case studies and recorded coaching session videos with clients from our apprenticeship program.

The REPAIR Coach Apprenticeship program does lead to a "REPAIR Facilitator Certification", however this certification is only valid in combination with the formal coach education pathway (NVW PCC).

Yes, absolutely! The majority of our REPAIR Faculty also have full time careers or coaching practices, and participation as a REPAIR Coach Apprentice is absolutely flexible around work and family commitments. Our requested time commitment of 7 hours per week includes 2 hours of synchronous large group REPAIR cohorts, and the remaining 5 hours are scheduled by each apprentice with their individual and/or small group clients according to mutual availability.

The REPAIR Coach Apprenticeship is an unpaid volunteer role at a 501c3 nonprofit organization. There is no direct compensation offered. There are however a few bartered perks offered including training and professional development opportunities, and software needs provided for (telehealth platform and EHR). 

As an apprentice, you will also be matched with clients to gain experience hours for ICF certification as a part of the arrangement with NI2C in the REPAIR Coach Apprentice program, known as "third-party coaching" for ICF certification. Therefore, when applying for ACC or PCC certification through ICF, coaching experience gained through this apprenticeship meets their definition of "paid" experience. 

After completing your apprenticeship, you may be eligible to become a "Certified REPAIR Facilitator" (must have successfully facilitated all 13 weekly topics of REPAIR). At this time you are eligible for paid REPAIR Faculty roles and/or licensing opportunities to launch your own REPAIR cohorts.

NI2C takes on a small number of apprentices per year, and the apprentice experience is one of being immersed in and integrated into the REPAIR Faculty team. We currently have openings for 3 apprentices for fall 2026 start dates.

Yes of course! We welcome seasoned coaches who are looking to upskill and add trauma-informed skills to their practice and/or coaches who wish to volunteer and give back in a nonprofit setting.
