Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As the first woman in a biracial household to hold a degree in higher education and additionally be  successful while being affected by mental illness,

the helping aspect of psychology is fascinating to me and drew me into my career. The ability to explore the human experience and step into the minds of other individuals through conversation is astounding. I intend to assist the multi/bi-racial population, specifically allowing these individuals to recognize the connection of culture to mental health adversities.

University, Fullerton pursuing Public Health. I am interested in increasing awareness when it comes to mental health as well as reduce stigma and improve access to programs for individuals living in low income communities. After receiving my degree in Public Health I plan to apply to the Accelerated Nursing Program here at Cal State Fullerton to pursue a nursing career. My mission for this program is to increase awareness and support while breaking the

barriers to mental wellness through outreach work. The reason why I am studying Public Health is because I want to be able to help individuals living in low income communities have access to resources and improve their education on mental health.

My name is Jason Carson (he/him), and I am a senior at California State University, Fullerton, pursuing a B.S. in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health. I began my first internship with NI2C during the summer of 2025 and will continue in the fall as part of the Peer Resource Navigation & ECM Training Team. I am most excited to finally get the chance to apply what I have gained academically to real-world work that supports individuals in accessing mental health services. After graduation, I plan on pursuing an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Marriage and Family Therapy at California State University, Fullerton, with a long-term goal of working with veterans through the VA. As someone who has been serving in the U.S. Army Reserve for nearly four years and having spent more than half of that time in the Middle East, I have witnessed firsthand the lasting emotional impact that military service can have on an individual. I am most driven by a passion to break down the overwhelming barriers and stigma that often keep veterans from seeking the help they deserve.

Hello, My name is Cassidy Christy. I go by she/her pronouns, and I am a human services major at Cal State Fullerton. This is my second internship with NI2C, and this semester, I am part of the enrollment team project. One career goal that I have is to pursue my master's in medicine. After I complete my bachelor's degree, I want to go to Physician Assistant/Associate school. I was drawn to human services because I have personal experiences similar to those of the populations that human service professionals serve. Ever since I was in high school, I really enjoyed taking medical classes. I had the opportunity to shadow a PA, which solidified my decision to pursue a master's in medicine. I think the human services field gives me the knowledge and perspective some medical professionals don’t have. I hope to use these opportunities to help communities in the future.
