Our programs are designed to be taken either as stand-alone experiences, or in succession one after another. The practices and content in the weekly Practice Group Meetings are different in the R.E.P.A.I.R. and T.H.R.I.V.E Programs because each program focuses on a different set of trauma-informed competencies that support participants on their healing journeys.
The R.E.P.A.I.R. and T.H.R.I.V.E Programs are trauma-informed, and designed to give people who have been impacted by trauma the extra support they need to rebuild their lives following traumatic circumstances. We want to support you in transitioning from surviving to thriving. We are not Psychiatrists, and will not administer any "treatment", nor prescribe any medication. This program is supplemental support, and is not medical advice, nor a substitute for medical treatment.
No, not at all. The practices taught in groups are all based on working with the manifestations of the effects of past trauma in the present moment. We will be working with our physiological, emotional, cognitive, and somatic sensations or experiences, and introducing practices you can continue to use on your own to alleviate your suffering. The most common references made by participants in groups are about their current physical experiences such as "I sense a pattern of tightness in my neck, shoulders, and jaw", not details about the traumatic event they survived. We invite you to trust your own boundaries at all times, and you will never be asked to share the narrative of the trauma you have survived.
Some participants do wish to discuss some parts of their traumatic experiences in one-on-one sessions. If that is what comes up for you in individual coaching, your coach can help you to stay in an experience of grounded presence so you are not pulled back into reliving your trauma. We do not believe it is necessary, nor psychologically or emotionally helpful to engage in long narratives about our past trauma.
If you have a loved one who is suffering from PTSD or other prolonged symptoms of trauma, participating in our programs will better equip you to support them. You will also have the opportunity to work on your own healing and development through a customized coaching design plan.
Yes! Our programs are helpful for those in helping professions. Many of the practices you will learn in the program will become part of your self-care for dealing with your own vicarious trauma or compassion fatigue. The Integral Coaching® method also works very well for vertical development for anyone, and the custom designed coaching plan you will have with your coach will help you to broaden your perspective and develop competencies, and will allow you to be better at self-correcting and self-generating. A personal history of trauma is not needed to benefit from these trauma-informed programs.
Yes, absolutely. Please email jen@ni2c.org to discuss the many possible options for a collaboration.
